The Diploma in Engineering is currently offered at three levels: Foundation, Higher and Advanced.

Each course usually lasts two years. The number of guided learning hours required depends on the level of the Diploma.

Foundation Diploma


Equivalent to:

5 GCSEs at grades D to G

Higher Diploma


Equivalent to:

7 GCSEs at grades A* to C

Advanced Diploma


Equivalent to:

3.5 A-Levels

There is also a Progression Diploma, which is a Level 3 qualification equivalent to 2.5 A-Levels and represents a smaller programme of learning than than the Advanced Diploma.
